Hack This Poem
Take poems you like. Decompose them to find of why. Write your own. What makes a poem “work”? We’ll take poems apart and put them back together to find out. We’ll tackle poems, render our own versions, and share. Our versions will question each choice the poet made, at the same time we’ll direct energies into making the poems unique, our own.
Beginning Game Development with HTML 5
Use Javascript and HTML 5 to make a multiplayer game you can play with your friends in any browser. Each week we’ll investigate a particular aspect of game development — input, animation, sound, physics, and multiplayer/networking — and learn how to implement it using Javascript and HTML 5. Bring your own game ideas, and be ready to help your fellow learners playtest their games and figure out how to fix their bugs!
The Philosophy of Death
The Philosophy of Death study group provides an opportunity to ask questions such as: “What does it mean to die and who or what is the ‘person’ that dies? Is it merely a physical body, or is it also something like a soul, and, if so, does the existence of a soul indicate that there is some hope of immortality? What should our attitude toward death be and what effect should that have on the way we live our lives?” The study group uses a number of prominent philosophical and literary works—including those by Plato, Tolstoy, Montaigne, Jonathan Swift, Walter Kauffmann and Lucretius—to think about death philosophically.
The Art of Music – from Amateur to Professional
A study group for Amateur musicians wanting to go pro. This course has two goals- to give us knowledge, and to give us a push to use this knowledge and fulfill our dream. And by the way consolidate the values which will guide us making good Art worth listening to.
